Future House Canada Celebrates Historic Ground-Breaking in Beijing, China

On Saturday March 8th  Mr. Sam Qin, Executive Director of  Toronto based Cenith Energy Corporation, joined with representatives of  China’s Ministry of Construction, Future House USA, Future House Korea, Future House Japan and the Canadian Trade Commission to officially break ground for the construction of the Future House Canada, net-zero energy efficient building and demonstration center in Beijing, China.

Located in Chang Ping District of Beijing, 8 Km north of the Master stadiums of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Future House Canada is a 6500 square foot, mixed 2 storey house with basement on a 7000 square feet site, consisting of over 48 sustainable technologies including a steel frame with high density insulation wall structure. Future House Canada is part of China’s effort to shape 2008 Beijing Olympics as “Green Olympics”.

The Future House Canada facility provides a platform for Canada to enhance the presence and maximize the export capacity of green and innovative Canadian building products, technology and services in China during and after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games to 2014.

Cenith Energy Corporation has been honoured to be selected by the Ministry of Construction of China through its agency, to represent Canada to develop and build its historic Future House Canada facility, a project that will lead to Future Condo Canada, Future Community Canada, and Future City Canada. With the most advanced green building technology in the world, Cenith Energy Corporation and her international partners will work closely with local government and peer industry representatives like the Future House Development Co. Ltd., to help define a new housing standard for the Chinese building industry for the next thirty years and beyond.

Sustainable projects such as Future City Canada will not only benefit the Chinese residents by providing a healthy, sustainable, and affordable surrounding in which to live, but also benefit development and the cooperation of developers, manufacturers, and service providers from both China and Canada.

Over the past 30 years, China’s economy has made astonishing achievements that have benefited both the Chinese people and rest of the world. In order to accommodate the ever growing demand for housing in China, it is projected that China will build 400 new cities to support the need for 100 million houses and suites and accommodate a population of over 300 million, over the next 25 years.
